A Wedding Day Checklist for Brides

Weddings symbolise moving on to a new chapter of your life. Planning a wedding is nothing less than a roller coaster ride. From dates to guest lists and venues to food, you want to make sure everything is perfect for your special day. Being the bride is a lot of pressure, so we have compiled a simple wedding checklist to help you plan the perfect wedding.

Weddings and wedding planning have changed a lot in the last few years. Since we have shifted to a nuclear family structure, there are fewer people to divide the responsibilities of wedding planning with. Hence, it becomes important to plan in a way that reduces pressure on the bride. Here are a few tips to ensure your special day is memorable and not racked with pressure.

Check & Mate

Once you are done finalising dates and venues, make two wedding to-do lists - one for the tasks that need to be done and one for all the resources you would need to get them done. If you want to take organising to another level, you can also make a list of people who can be assigned these tasks. From fixing appointments with vendors and tasting food, you need to know who is apt for which task.

Delegate & Assign

Delegate work and assign tasks to trustworthy people who can be relied upon. Having friends and relatives by your side taking care of tasks on the wedding day is immensely helpful and takes pressure off you.

Coordinate & Collate

When planning a wedding, the last thing you want is conflicting timings or unforeseen requirements. In order to avoid these, coordinate with your makeup artist about the timings in advance. Also, make sure you have a list of things you need, like flowers, gajra and any other accessories or extensions. Make sure to discuss the lipstick shade in advance so you have the same shade for touch-up later on.

Adventure Ready

Wedding days are hectic and can end in tears if you have not planned well. In order to avoid any disasters, make sure to have some basic medicines handy. In the eleventh hour, you may need anything from a band aid to a headache pill, so make sure to have them on you in case the need arises. Keep some hairpins, safety pins and a thread and needle in your touch up bag for any last-minute needs.

Stay Hydrated

During the wedding, the last thing on your mind is food. However, it is important to keep eating and stay hydrated. During the weeks leading up to your wedding, make sure you have proper meals and drink a lot of water to stay hydrated and reduce stress. You can keep some energy bars or other snacks handy on the big day. Carry a few juice and water bottles in your bag along with tissues that would be needed throughout the day.
